This unique 10-day motorcycle tour is designed for riders seeking the ultimate Moroccan adventure — combining two of the country’s most iconic deserts: the wild, untouched Erg Chegaga and the majestic dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Starting in Ouarzazate, this loop takes you through the Anti-Atlas, across desert plateaus, into off-road wilderness, and through remote villages barely touched by time. Ride through rocky tracks, soft sands, and legendary rally trails with full support, professional guidance, and stunning landscapes every step of the way.

Day 1 – Ouarzazate → Foum Zguid
Kick off your ride heading southeast across the rocky plains of the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing small oases and wild lunar landscapes. Reach Foum Zguid, a frontier town at the edge of the desert. Overnight in a lodge, prepare for the ride into the real Sahara.
Day 2 – Foum Zguid → Erg Chegaga Dunes
Today’s ride is full off-road adventure. Cross Lake Iriki’s dry salt flats, wide-open desert plains, and rugged tracks used by the Paris-Dakar Rally. Arrive at the remote Erg Chegaga dunes, Morocco’s most untouched dune field. Spend the night in a desert camp, watch the sunset over the sand, and enjoy Berber drumming by the fire.
Day 3 – Chegaga → Mhamid → Zagora
Ride east through sandy valleys and oueds (dry rivers) to the desert outpost of Mhamid, then follow the route north along the Draa River oasis. Visit small ksour and palm groves before arriving in Zagora, the “Last Town before the Sahara.” Overnight in a comfortable kasbah.
Day 4 – Zagora → Tafraout Sidi Ali
Leave the palm groves and head into harsher desert terrain. The route today is remote and raw, taking you off-road into hamada (stone desert) and isolated areas where camels roam freely. Reach the peaceful desert village of Tafraout Sidi Ali, and enjoy a night in a remote lodge or desert auberge.
Day 5 – Tafraout → Ramliya
This is one of the wildest sections: an off-road ride through rocky and sandy terrain, with optional challenging sections. Navigate Dakar-style trails, pass fossil fields and dry riverbeds before reaching the remote village of Ramliya. Sleep in a true desert retreat, cut off from modern noise.
Day 6 – Ramliya → Ouzina → Merzouga
Continue through the beautiful Ouzina dunes, golden and peaceful, then on toward Erg Chebbi, the crown jewel of Morocco’s sand dunes. Reach Merzouga, where the towering dunes offer incredible sunset views. Optional camel trek or sandboarding before overnight in a desert camp or kasbah.
Day 7 – Merzouga → Todra Gorges
Leave the dunes behind and travel north through Erfoud, heading toward the spectacular Todra Gorge. Here, dramatic cliffs rise up to 300 meters high, forming one of Morocco’s most iconic natural wonders. Rest in a gorge-side riad.
Day 8 – Todra → Dades Gorges
Climb into the High Atlas via the twisting Tissadrine road of Dades. Discover surreal landscapes — “monkey fingers” rock formations, deep ravines, and Berber cliff villages. Ride through narrow valleys and stay in a kasbah-style guesthouse with canyon views.
Day 9 – Dades → Valley of Roses → Skoura
Ride through the peaceful Valley of Roses, dotted with gardens and small rose distilleries. Continue to the Skoura Oasis, a lush palm grove filled with ancient kasbahs. Visit Kasbah Amridil and rest in a relaxing eco-lodge surrounded by date palms.
Day 10 – Skoura → Ouarzazate
Your final ride brings you back to Ouarzazate, with optional stops at Aït Benhaddou or local film studios. Return with a sense of achievement and a lifetime of memories after crossing Morocco’s deserts, dunes, and mountains by motorcycle.
